3 Ways You Delay Your Success

“The more we delay, the more we will pay!” ~ Ban-Ki-moon

It is my experience and belief that we as individuals delay our own success.

We delay our chances of rising to the top by the negative thoughts we harbor in our minds.

We put off task.

We come up with excuses.

You name it, on average, we have been guilty of doing it and/or thinking it.

Sounds familiar?

Have you thought that you are undeserving of a successful life? One that consist of prosperity, productivity and/or purpose.

Have you thought to yourself that YOU do not have the skills and talents that would afford you the ability to live a better life?

Do not be ashamed to admit it. It is a known fact, we can be our own worst critic.

The first step to getting pass your limited mind beliefs is by confronting them.

You may not be aware that your thoughts keep you from being the best version of YOU.

Let me share this with you, YOU were born for greatness.

So, let’s address these three debilitating behaviors so you can finally put yourself in position for elevation.

1.       Procrastination ~ Procrastination is the biggest stealer of your time. If not recognized and confronted it will rob you of a fulfilled life. Examples of procrastination is putting things off to a later date, in addition, you can delay making decisions within a specific time frame. The list can on, but you get my drift. The perfect way to break out of this pattern is to adapt a new attitude of taking care of your business. Hold yourself accountable. Find an accountability partner or a trusted friend. Someone that is already where you want to be. What it boils down to is learning to adapt the attitude of “Never put off tomorrow what you can do today!” Mark Twain

2.       Self-sabotaging ~ Self-sabotaging are thoughts that hold you back from accomplishing your dreams and goals. Telling yourself that you cannot accomplish a specific goal or you are not worthy enough. Some ways to combat these thoughts are to adapt positive ones. Find some positive books. Follow positive people on social media. Get into affirmations. There are many ways you can beat this negative behavior. Find what resonate with you and incorporate those things in your life daily.

3.       Fear ~ Fear is literally “false events appearing real.” Our thoughts can be our worst enemy. If not conquered, fear can keep you from living a fruitful and prosperous life. Fear is a human emotion. We use it as a means of protection, which also means you can also lose the ability to flourish if you continue fearing uncertain possibilities. The best way to rid yourself of fear is to do it afraid. Talk yourself through it. You will soon see you have been wasting time by living in a place of fear.

Changing can be hard to do when you have had a certain mindset for so long. One may think that it is not possible. However, I am here to tell you that when you put forth effort and work, all things are possible. Becoming open to change can be so rewarding. Many doors can open. You have the ability to be surrounded by unlimited potential when you open your mind to new possibilities.

When you realize you are deserving and worth what this world has to offer, you can experience a new life. A life filled with freedom, happiness and love. Make the decision today to stop selling yourself short. The world is ready for what you have to offer. So, go out there and give it to them!
