“A negative mind will NEVER give you a positive life!” - Anonymous
Life experiences bring about many thoughts.
At times, these thoughts can be good or bad. Positive or negative.
Challenging your thoughts during bad times is a skill
that is learned.
YES, you can challenge what you think about!
Whether life hits hard or not, what you feed your mind has
the ability to change how you look and react to life’s steady occurrences.
Today, I want to talk to you about combating your negative
thoughts so when life hits, you can take something from it versus it taking something from you.
Having the ability to change your thoughts or how you
view things can change your life.
You are no longer a victim to “whoa is me” but victor because
you choose to react differently by taking something from the negative and
turning it into something positive.
Change your thoughts, change your life is real.
Let’s take a look at 4 ways you can change your negative
thoughts:
1.
Create or find a mantra – Have you heard of the
21/90 rule? It is when you do something over and over again to form a habit. So,
if you commit to creating or finding a mantra and say it straight for 21 days
you have the potential to make a permanent lifestyle thought change.
2.
Use positive self-talk – Get to the root of why
you are negative or being negative. Challenge yourself. I am a big self-talker.
I find it to be therapeutic. After a while of getting into the rhythm of doing
so, you will find out it becomes healing. You have to be your biggest
cheerleading during these time. Make sure you are cheering for a positive
outcome.
3.
Read self-help books – There are some people
that are mentally strong and can work through helping themselves. They are
disciplined enough to work through what they are going through to make a
change. Self-help books are a way for you to help yourself. They carry ideas
and strategizes to help you along your journey. Do some research and see which
ones that are targeted towards the journey you are on of positive thinking.
4.
Seek help – Seeking helps does not deem you are
crazy. If anything it deems you are smart. You have finally admitted to
yourself, you no longer want to be in a negative position. And, you are seeking
help so that someone can guide and assist you along this journey of finding the
positives in life.
Becoming the change you want to see within yourself is not
an overnight process. It takes work. It is making a conscious decision to
challenge your thoughts when you are in a bad mood. It is using
consistency each time you see yourself being negative or turning negative. It
is learning how to leave the past negative thoughts in the past. It is letting
go of the old you to become someone new. In the end, you will learn that
everything that was needed to change your thinking lies within you.
